IEEE stands for Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. The organization has more than 400,000 members, with its main offices located in New York City. The organization is not for profit and was founded in 1963. The IEEE represents a combining of several different organizations, all of which were concerned with the engineering fields in some degrees. Today, the IEEE works to advance the theories and practices related to the field of electronics, computer science and engineering and related fields. This organization provides conferences and workshops for members and publishes scientific journals related to the fields with which it is concerned.
